11 pounder Temensis by our Lure Guru Alan

On 5/3/11, a luring trip with our lure guru Alan and a group of special guests “Big Boss Man” Errol, Tommy, Gobi & Kawal. ( all Liverpool fans, no wonder Red can beat MU)
After hooked up a few small Temensis and Zebra Tilapia, Nelson and Alan decided to explore further into the forest. We keep contact with them and 1 ½ hours later I called Alan and heard his exciting voice over the phone saying “wait I called you back, got big tomans’ I told Derek and three of us decided to search them in the thick forest. After a short while, we managed to locate them and were just on time to see the 11 pounds Temensis caught by Alan on his giron swimbait. What a beauty! He told us there are some tomans chasing a school of juveniles fishes and advised us to use a bigger size surface lure. He told us when this big fellow to his lure he thought that he had hit the toman that he had missed twice. The fish took his lure close tothe other side of the bank and give him a good 5 minute workout. He was trying to call Nelson who was at the other corner to help him to grip up the fish but that poor fellow thought some super natural power was trying to warn him. In end he had to throw his expensive set of gear on to the ground before moving into the water to grab the fish and lift it out of the water. A few photos were taken and fish was released back into without any harm.
While Derek who is at another corner hit an Arowana but hook was not able to set into it's mouth due to the trees branches around him and let it got away. Later when we move back to assembly point, Errol told us he finally got his first fish on lure. (bro, tio tok liao)
Today I did not get any big fellas but managed to get some tips from Alan how to work on surface lure like pencil and walk a dog. I will continue to practice and hope to get my first fish on a surface lure very soon. Next week we will be going to a new Toman spot this weekend after knowing Derek's friend have hook up a 7 pounder on the same day.I hope I can hook on one on my new pencil lure which I brought from Changi Pro Tackle.
Lastly we would like to thank Nelson for going the extra mile to send us there and drove his van to the carpark and take a 15 minutes back to the fishing spot.
