Today, a team of 5 hardcore members explored into the deep forest at “spot Higher 2”. On our way we encountered one mystery animal in our nature reserved habitat, it is the gorgeous blue coral snake. Its blue body between the red colour head & tail created a beautiful colour contrast. I have long wanted to encounter with this snake and finally I am able to face it today, but somehow too excited and forgotten to take a photo of this beauty. The Blue Coral snake (Calliopsis Bivirgatus) is a nocturnal creature that contained a highly venomous neurotoxin that is more than enough to kill a human beings. Althrough it is more aggressive at night than in the day but it is still too dangerous to handle this snake. Many years back, I remembered there was a fatal case caused by this snake in Seletar area. Sometimes one can be mistaken it as the non venomous pinkhead reed snake so if you are not sure please do not try to catch it.
Today is a Temensis feeding frenzy day for Nelson, Alan, Derek & Jasper. they have landed many fishes, a few good one weight were between 2.5 kg to 3kg and this have given them a lot of trill & fun. I lost 2 big one and landed those smaller one but I have enough dose of antidote the day before at Kyoto pay pomd where I hooked up a 3.5kg GT on my light tackle.
Alan lost an Asian green Arowana, the fish gave him a good run on his tackle ( Dawai Certate 2500 reel). This is a good reel, my next target to ugrade. He said that he always set his drag high and the first strike was strong enough to dash out his line without stopping and after various rounds of strong and violent shaking, the monster managed to get off the hook. Based on the size, it should be close to 1 meter in length and above 4kg in weight,
Next week I may want to take a rest because my Kucing trip is around the corner and need to prepare the necessary.

Edmund hit a 9 pounds Temensis at spot higher 2 on 13/3/2011
Went with Nelson and Derek to Oldman spot not much to write about as the catch are not small compared to Edmund, but Derek and I managed to hook our first fish on a pencil lure. This Yo zuri Zombi bug pen is recomended by our Guru Alan. Last week he demonstrate the action of this and some tips how to work on it. We both enjoyed our first fih on surface lure.
Jasper a friend of Edmund wanted to trylure fishing so Edmund brought him to Spot higher 2 which is suitable for new comers where there is less osbtacle. Edmund got a 9 pounds female temensis.I couldn't joined them because I have 2 wedding to attend that day. One in the afternoon and the other in the evening.

11 pounder Temensis by our Lure Guru Alan
On 5/3/11, a luring trip with our lure guru Alan and a group of special guests “Big Boss Man” Errol, Tommy, Gobi & Kawal. ( all Liverpool fans, no wonder Red can beat MU)
After hooked up a few small Temensis and Zebra Tilapia, Nelson and Alan decided to explore further into the forest. We keep contact with them and 1 ½ hours later I called Alan and heard his exciting voice over the phone saying “wait I called you back, got big tomans’ I told Derek and three of us decided to search them in the thick forest. After a short while, we managed to locate them and were just on time to see the 11 pounds Temensis caught by Alan on his giron swimbait. What a beauty! He told us there are some tomans chasing a school of juveniles fishes and advised us to use a bigger size surface lure. He told us when this big fellow to his lure he thought that he had hit the toman that he had missed twice. The fish took his lure close tothe other side of the bank and give him a good 5 minute workout. He was trying to call Nelson who was at the other corner to help him to grip up the fish but that poor fellow thought some super natural power was trying to warn him. In end he had to throw his expensive set of gear on to the ground before moving into the water to grab the fish and lift it out of the water. A few photos were taken and fish was released back into without any harm.
While Derek who is at another corner hit an Arowana but hook was not able to set into it's mouth due to the trees branches around him and let it got away. Later when we move back to assembly point, Errol told us he finally got his first fish on lure. (bro, tio tok liao)
Today I did not get any big fellas but managed to get some tips from Alan how to work on surface lure like pencil and walk a dog. I will continue to practice and hope to get my first fish on a surface lure very soon. Next week we will be going to a new Toman spot this weekend after knowing Derek's friend have hook up a 7 pounder on the same day.I hope I can hook on one on my new pencil lure which I brought from Changi Pro Tackle.
Lastly we would like to thank Nelson for going the extra mile to send us there and drove his van to the carpark and take a 15 minutes back to the fishing spot.
