Long Week End Fishing Trips

Day 1
On 30/4/2011, Errol and me decided to go to Kyoto Fishing pond for a short session. I wasn't in the mood to fish but anyway company our big boss man. Later on Nelson came by and I told him to take over me and he was the lucky guy who hooked up a 4kg GT and 1.6kg red snapper on my Bassterra GS rod. Next Kawal and Gobi came amd they brought a few cans of Tiger beers so is time for me to "get that man a beer, get that man a Tiger." The hot weather is the best excuses for me to down 2 cans of cold beer. The feeling was like I am in a cool running water steam after walking out from a desert. The feeling too good to describe only one to experience himself.
The catch rate was poor and I have not seen anyone caught more than 3 fishes. So let hope the next day will be a better tomorrow. Here the picture of Nelson's catch.

Day 2

Meet up with Edmund, Derek and Jasper at Nee Soon 744 coffee shop for breakfast before we move to Crocodile farm where Nelson will be leading us there. While we were having breakfast we saw the PAP MP were there to run for their election campaign. It happened that I know one of the Doctor MP and have a nice chat with him we move over to meet Neslon.
After 20 minutes drive and another 20 minutes walk, we reached the farm but saw barb wire behind the fence and no way to get in to pay a visit to our Mr.Croc so no choice to fish at the side. 3 PBs were landed by Derek, Jasper & Edmund. The biggest one was caught by Derek about 1 kg and you can see his trade mark smile in the picture. After a short while we feel bored and decided to find another way in from the other side.
When we reached a muddy patch, then funny thing happened as I fell while trying trying to jump over because my shimano clog got strucked into the mud where I landed it was like a nice and neat soccer style tackle and remind me my soccer days. Jasper come to give him a helping hand when I got up I started to laugh. maybe this is a retribution for teasing Nelson and I think he the one who had the most laugh on me beside the rest. LOL
At 1 pm we went over to apublic toilet to change before going to Guru Alan's place to attend his Son Adam's one year old birthday and after that we continue at our fishing at spot hihher where I hooked up a 5 pounds Toman or Gaint snakehead on the walk a dog lure. The fish missed my lure on his first grab and when I twitched the lure very lightly before he grabbed it the second time and I did not set the hook the hook immediately but to let it run until I feel the line is tight before I firmly set the hook twice to ensure this fella do not get away. I managed to put the fish iin but it still give a good run before derek grip it up. The fuish have given my new Daiwa Certarte 2500 a good run for it's money. This was the biggest Toman I caught after statred FW luring last year and I hope more to come

Day 3 ( 5 pounds Temensis at tower spot)
I was able to Join them as I have to do all the house work alone this week because my wife have to work on this weekend.
Derek told me that this spot was very good and the Temensis was like feeding frenzy although they are only 3 to 5 pounds but still you get the fun out of it. they did saw a few biggies but was very smart not taking the lures. here another Trademark smile of cap. Derek with 5 pounds Temensis.

Edmund's 6 pounds Toman aka" Siam Lei"

On 24/4/ 2011, we went to spot higher to get some fun as recently the temensis there are having a feeding frenzy.
Early in morning we met at a Roti Prata shop for breakfast, but today we all fell the absence of Nelson. We had not seen him for a week and hope he is able to survive the harsh terrian of Kranji forest, I beleive he will make it as there are abundant of wild sweet potatoes & durian and for no reason he will starve himself LOL.

Nothing much to describe as the catch rate was poor and small maybe the earlier group had spooked the fishes. The biggest catch was Edmund's 6 pounds Toman on a a walk a dog lure, he keep on repeating to him after the fish was released" surface lure si bei song wow wu ya si bei song" I think he will be hooked on to surface lure for a while. Here is the photo of Edmund's catch

Match Report
Majorcraft slicer giving Graphiteleader Bosco a samurai slash just below the tip. This move have stunned both of them as they saw the tip sliced off onto the ground and start rolling before it stop. Both were speechless, later Nelson disappeared and was never seen again. I beleived he must have feel very sad for causing such a tragedy to one of his closest fishing mate's fishing rod.

photo of fallen Graphite leader

PS: Received a tipoff that someone saw Nelson hiding at Kranji forested area. we will be going there to search him. If we lure with him latest SOP will be at 3 meters apart. LOL

Remy's 8.5 pounds temensis at spot higher 1

Our new boy Remy caught a 8.5 pounds temensis at spot higher 1. He was given a big surprise by this ferocious fresh water fish who was attacking to a smaller fish that hooked on his lure and ended up itself being Remy's prize catch. This big fella had gave him a good work out to wake up his senses and I believed the l poison of lure fishing have started to invade into his body. This will be the beginning of his lure fishing journey and hopefully he will become one of our regular kakis very soon.
Bro, Well done keep up the good work and welcome to the world of lure fishing.

will try to upload the Kuching trip photo by this week
